The Ninth Constitutional Court of the Superior Court of Justice of Lima (CSJ) scheduled for Friday, March 25, the hearing of the oral report of the habeas corpus petition presented by the President of the Republic, peter castleagainst Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations (SAC) to declare null the admission of the complaint against him for alleged treason against the country.
The document issued by the CSJ details that the hearing will be held from 12:00 pm for the purpose of making the requested oral report. Therefore, it indicates that the appellant, the respective Public Attorney’s Office and the other defendants must be notified.
Likewise, it points out that, due to the context of the pandemic in which the country is still in, the hearing will be held virtually and will be through the Google Meet platform.

This, after it was reported last March 13 that the president’s lawyer, Eduardo Pachas, had filed the habeas corpus petition against the members of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations, chaired by Congresswoman Rosío Torres (APP).
“(…) for alleged violation of the right to individual liberty. Due process, procedural protection, effective, due in parliament, violation of the principle of legality (…) violation of freedom of conscience”, was specified in said resource.
Admission of complaint against Pedro Castillo
On February 28, the aforementioned parliamentary working group declared admissible the constitutional accusation against the head of state for the alleged violation of articles 32, 54, 110 and 118 paragraphs 1, 2 and 11 of the Constitution and the alleged crime of treason against the country.
During the debate for the admission of this complaint, the report received 8 votes in favor and 8 against, so it was finally resolved with the casting vote of the president of the SAC, Rosío Torres.
