The Government of Buenos Aires will hold a public hearing this Friday to analyze the project “BA Coastal Park”a three-hectare public beach that will be located on land reclaimed from the Río de la Plata, on the Costanera Norte, and whose work will receive at least 1,047 million pesos.
The hearing was convened by the Buenos Aires Environmental Protection Agency (APRA) and will be virtual, with participation through the Zoom platform and broadcast on the local government’s YouTube channel.
The interventions will begin at 12:30, and officials, experts and about 40 speakers will participate, that is, citizens who have registered to give their opinion.
Last August, the Government of Buenos Aires published in the local Official Gazette the bases and conditions for the work “Parque Costero BA”, which consists of a “public beach for six thousand people”, located at Avenida Costanera Rafael Obligado 6551, next to the private complex “North Park”.
As advertised, the beach “It will have water games, a pier for fishermen and will be complemented by a staggered concrete coastal defense of 860 meters in length.”
The official budget for the work “amounts to $1,047,189,182.72 at values of the month of July 2022, with a financial advance of 15%”, establishes the resolution of the Buenos Aires Cabinet chief, in charge of Felipe Miguel.
The new beach will be part of the “Young District”, an initiative of the City Government that was approved by the local Legislature in 2018 and covers five sectors of the city’s Costanera Norte, which begin in the Parque de la Memoria and end in Costa Salguero, with about seven kilometers in length, passing in front of the Metropolitan Airport.
In accordance with the law approved in 2018 (No. 5,961), the objective is that the “Young District – Costanera Norte” be an area destined for recreational, cultural, gastronomic and entertainment spaces.
BA Playa will be located in Sector 2 of the Young District, where several restaurants and nightclubs have operated.
