Health Superintendent urges isapres to return to the dialogue table with the Government: “I think they have to sit down again”

The Superintendent of Health, Victor Torres, summoned the isapres to return to the dialogue table with the Government. This, within the framework of the Supreme Court ruling -of November 30, 2022- which established that all health and complementary plans must apply the table of factors of the Superintendency, which came into force in 2020.

“The isapres use arguments that rather harm the debate, the discussion or the search for a way out,” Torres said in conversation with the program National state of TVN.

“I think they have to sit down at the table again and discuss, place their background on it, because if they say they don’t have to pay or return anything, then one says: ‘what is the alternative solution if it is the position of the isapres?’ So let them tell people that’s their position,'” he added.

In turn, he pointed out that “nobody here is looking for the isapres to fall. Undoubtedly this is a complex situation, otherwise we would not be in a conversation at the level that is taking place today and in this we have to avoid a situation that could affect both the public and private world.

“In fact, the Government has also raised from this short law the possibility of strengthening Fonasa and, above all, the field of free choice,” he added.
