The health reform filed by the national government last Monday before Congress, will be debated in extraordinary sessions.

The Government filed the request before the Congress of the Republic that same Monday, and it was the Minister of the Interior, Alfonso Prada, who released the news, this Wednesday, February 15.
“By incorporating it (the reform project) into the extraordinary sessions, the Government sets a position on the content of the law. It is an essentially ordinary law that develops the statutory law 1751 of the year 2015Prada said.

According to the official, this reform “nor modify the definition or the principialist content” of the concept of the fundamental right to health. “SIt only includes the instruments through which the fundamental right to health is endowed with material efficacy, full effectiveness.“, he pointed.
The reform document was filed last Monday before Congress after a symbolic act held in the Plaza de Armas, in the Casa de Nariño, which was attended by the presidents of the Senate and Chamber, Roy Barreras and David Racero, the vice president France Marquez and dozens of health professionals, users of the system and ordinary Colombians.

At the time of filing the project, President Petro said: “We have reached another key moment of this government. After the tax reform, today we enter the social reforms. We hope that no one is excluded, to improve the daily life of all Colombians”.
