The suspension of vehicle rotation in the capital of São Paulo for doctors and nursing professionals was extended until December 31. The measure came into force on January 19 and would end on Monday (28). According to the city of São Paulo, the extension takes place after evaluating the positive impacts for the health care provided by these categories.
The measure benefits doctors, nurses, technicians and nursing assistants. The suspension applies to residents in the metropolitan region of the capital who work in private or public health services at the municipal, state or federal level provided in the municipality.
Proof of professional activity is provided by the class councils, where the vehicles must be registered. The entities send the data to the Traffic Engineering Company (CET) so that drivers receive special authorization and are released from the municipal rotation.
The continuity of the exemption will still be made official in the Official Gazette of the City of São Paulo, by means of a municipal decree. Mayor Ricardo Nunes said that the initiative recognizes the work done during the covid-19 pandemic, allowing the displacement of these professionals without interruptions, especially at this time that requires special care.
