Health Minister says monkeypox continues without incident

the minister of Public health, Daniel Riverasaid this Friday that the situation of the monkeypox in the country continues without incident, as there are no notifications of new cases.

The official stressed that the last three reports, released last Wednesday, September 21, “did not require hospitalization because they were minor.”

During the weekly meeting with the press, the Deputy Minister of Collective Health, Eladio Pérez, reported at that time that they were two female patients, a 24-year-old resident of San Cristóbal and another 31-year-old resident of Santo Domingo, as well as a 31-year-old male patient, also located in Santo Domingo.

“No new or suspected cases have been reported,” Rivera declared at the end of his tour of the mobile hospitals installed in Nagua, María Trinidad Sánchez province, to provide help to people affected by Hurricane Fiona during its passage through this demarcation.

To date, a total of 21 cases of monkeypox.
