The Minister of Public Health, Daniel Rivera, assured this morning during a tour of the Northwest Line, that in the country there is no record of active cases of cholera in the country after the outbreak of the disease detected in Haiti.

He indicated that today they carry out a supervision and control tour in the most vulnerable parts of the Montecristi province, Dajabón and other border areas, as a preventive anti-cholera measure.
He specified that they have constantly moved to the points that may be vulnerable to the entry of the disease, verifying the quality of the water to avoid gastrointestinal diseases and cholera and having sufficient medicines to assist any possible affected person.

He also explained that they review the disease care protocols by the staff of the Provincial Directorates, the integration of government institutions, provincial authorities, hospital health personnel, private companies, among others.

He called on the general public to pay attention to the way in which the food to be consumed is prepared, to have the correct cooking, to wash hands before and after handling food and to use only potable water to drink.
