Health criminally sues hemodialysis center for irregularities; kidney patients were relocated to other centers

The Ministry of Health sued the Jesús Ayala private hemodialysis center “for having found serious irregularities in its reports on the care of patients with kidney disease”, informed María Bolivia Rothe, General Director of Short Term Insurance.

At a press conference in Santa Cruz, he pointed out that the “impossible to reconcile irregularities” found in a technical review were decisive for not renewing the contract that they have with that center with the aim of presenting the hemodialysis service to kidney patients of the Universal Health Insurance (SUS). However, he announced that these patients, a hundred, have already been transferred to other centers of the Santa Cruz capital to receive their treatment.

Rothe indicated that the reports that the clinic presented to the Ministry for the payment of services show differences with the number of patients attended that contradict their coverage capacity; Due to this, the Ministry perceives that the owners of that clinic tried to defraud the State with charges to SUS, which are not correct.

He also stated that they have evidence of how that clinic breached various clauses of the contractsuch as the quantity and quality of the human resources that they should have to guarantee an adequate provision of the service to patients.

In a written complaint that the same patients sent him, and that he shared with the media, it is indicated that a person who underwent dialysis twice a week appeared as if there were actually three. That is heThe clinic charged Bs 713 for a weekly session that it did not provide.

Another complaint indicates that the center counted deceased persons as patients who, of course, did not receive the service. They are also accused of falsifying seals and signatures.
