Strengthening and rebuilding the family health units of some departments is the justification for the health authorities to ask Congress to approve a 45 million dollar loan.
Vice Minister Hernán Martínez attended Congress this morning, wheree met with legislators to defend the request for a loan of 45 million dollars, which has not been dealt with in plenary for a long time.
“We need fStrengthen, reconvert and build more family health units in Concepción, Caazapá, Caaguazú, that is the reason”, explained Martínez, in a conversation with the media.
The benefit will reach 41 districts, where the health posts are outdated, because, In its original conception, the population was much smaller than the current one and, therefore, the growth caused a mismatch between supply and demand.
Many of these care centers they will extend their hours until 9:00 p.m., although the real need is 24 hours.
With the 45 million dollars It is also planned to strengthen programs such as HIV AIDS, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, among other social actions.
“It is not only to care for the patient who comes sick, but also to teach them family planning, we continue to have many pregnant girls,” lamented Martínez. He considered that, if the request is successful, the execution will probably not take place within this administration, but, even so, it is important to advance in the coverage of these needs.
