Heads of Trade from Panama and the US advance strategies to strengthen the global supply chain

The Minister of Commerce Federico Alfaro, met with the Secretary of Commerce of the United States (USA), Gina Raimondo, a meeting that served to align priorities and work together with his office in order to advance strategies focused on the promotion of “ nearshoring”, the strengthening of the global supply chain and the vital role of Panama in the face of this new trend, our concerns and proposals on some sensitive products under the Trade Promotion Treaty and reinforcing the role of women in business digitization.

Minister Alfaro highlighted that he extended an invitation to Raimondo to our country, to carry out a commercial mission where his work team and investors from the United States will be able to see first-hand all the commercial and logistical advantages that Panama offers and that as a country , we are the ideal destination to receive your investments.

Secretary Raimondo extended her congratulations to President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen and Vice President José Gabriel Carrizo for their leadership and effort with the Alliance for Development in Democracy, an initiative which has their full support and in which we will continue adding efforts that can strengthen the trade in the region.
