The Chief of the Junín Police Region, Danilo Vera Carbajal, during his speech at the ceremony commemorating the 35th anniversary of the creation of the institution, gave details about police activity in the region and the results obtained, among which he highlighted that there was a reduction in crime incidence compared to 2023.

Reduction of crime incidence
In crimes against property there was a reduction of 65% (from 4,507 complaints in 2023 to 2,719 in 2024), for the crime of theft by 40% (from 8,237 to 5,877 complaints), for extortion by 115% (from 447 to 178 complaints), for usurpation by 12% (from 684 to 608 complaints), in cases of sexual violation it decreased by 18% (from 615 to 517 complaints), for violence against women by 25% (from 10,208 to 8,123 complaints).
Results of the work of the PNP
Among the most notable data provided by General Danilo Vera, is the arrest of 17,295 people of Peruvian nationality and foreigners for various crimes, 1,953 detained for violence against women, the capture of 3,907 wanted people, intervention of 9,979 foreigners, 5,777 detained for drunk driving, 7,063 cell phones seized and 537 criminal gangs dismantled.

Implemented strategies
The strategies implemented to achieve the aforementioned results, according to the head of the Junín Police Region, were the following: foot patrol with members of the Special Services and Special Operations Unit, the creation of the Kallpa Wanka platoon with 16 motorcycles and 32 police officers , strengthening police and security patrols, the creation of the special group against crime to combat, investigate and report flagrante delicto crimes, covert patrolling and the maintenance of social preventive programs such as neighborhood meetings.
He also highlighted the commitment of the National Police to continue working to generate an environment of order in the country, even more so in the current context, where the wave of crime seems to have no limits.
