Head of the CC.FF.AA: "Let's go out to protect Peru"

The head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces (CC.FF.AA.), , affirmed today from the Government Palace that in the face of the illegal and improper use of violence, the State has the Armed Forces and the Police, as appropriate. “Let’s go out to protect Peru,” he said.

In his speech, at a press conference, he maintained that members of the Armed Forces and the National Police have suffered attacks by people who are completely wrong in their claim; however, despite this, “we have remained firm.”

“We have been gradually recovering normality on the roads, in the airports, in the cities. It is returning to normality, it is not yet achieved; however, let’s be positive, ”she referred.

He stressed that the mission of law enforcement during the state of national emergency decreed by the Government has been to safeguard critical assets attacked by groups that are committing terrorist actions.

“You cannot destroy premises of the Prosecutor’s Office, of the Judiciary, you cannot limit the capacity of the airports, how are the citizens going to move? We need to have the communication channels free,” he emphasized.

He also welcomed the initiative of thousands of citizens who, faced with acts of violence, have begun to march peacefully with white poles to demand peace and an end to violence in the country.
