The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, indicated this Friday that one of the keys to resisting the blockade by the United States and combating unilateral sanctions is keeping the people informed, as well as guaranteeing food and the public health system.
In an interview with the Iranian media Hispantv, he indicated that in Venezuela “we are clear that the comprehensive development and well-being of the country depends on the effort, intelligence and work capacity of us Venezuelans.”
“The blockade and persecution against the Venezuelan oil trade led us to spend a year with income of 54 billion dollars in one year and the next year, having only one billion dollars,” explained the Venezuelan president.
In this sense, he added that it was “an income catastrophe that had the objective of shaking the social base of Venezuela, causing generalized violence, justifying an imperialist military intervention and dividing Venezuela into three or four pieces.”
The Head of State stated that another of the keys has been to seek answers and solutions to the problems presented. Such as the guarantee of food for the people, where he highlighted the creation of the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP) and open-air markets.
“Guarantee public health, where the Venezuelan State has been applying itself, to combat the impact of the blockade in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, guarantee public education, guarantee housing for the people, accompany the people in their resistance with bonus systems, are factors with which Venezuela fights against the blockade, “said Maduro Moros.
“We had a first achievement, in the midst of the pandemic in 2021, the first year of growth in the real economy and this year 2022 we are consolidating the growth of the real economy, the one that produces goods, products, the one that produces services, the one that produces wealth”, highlighted President Maduro in the interview.
