Head of State greets peacekeeping in Russia

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, sent a solidarity greeting to the people of Russia, after an attempted armed insurrection in that country was successfully overcome this Saturday.

This was stated by the Head of State at the end of the acts on the occasion of the 202nd anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo and Bolivarian Army Day.

“I want to send from Campo de Carabobo all our embrace of solidarity and support to Russia, which has known how to face an attempted betrayal, an attempted civil war, and is at this time at peace.”

“From Venezuela, all our support for Vladimir Putin, brother of Venezuela,” said Maduro.

Earlier, through a statement, Venezuela condemned the attempt to promote an armed insurrection in Russia, through terrorist methods, after accusations against Russian military leaders were made known by the founder of the private military company Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin.

It transpired that after intense negotiations, this Saturday, agreements were reached on the inadmissibility of unleashing a bloodbath on Russian territory.

On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Prigozhin’s actions “military mutiny”.

In this sense, he stated “we are facing a betrayal, the exorbitant ambition led to a betrayal against Russia.”
