The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, congratulated the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) for shooting down a total of 39 drug trafficking aircraft during 2025, after the operations successfully carried out in the states of Apure and Amazonas.
From the Macarao parish, the head of state explained that after the downing of aircraft number 31 last Sunday in Apure, the Bolivarian Military Aviation achieved another forceful blow today in the state of Amazonas, near the border with Brazil, where eight additional aircraft were eliminated, for a total of 430 aircraft that have been neutralized for being linked to transnational crimes, since the beginning of the Law that governs the fight against drug trafficking in sovereign space.
“Venezuela has an exemplary model, unique in South America, to combat crime, criminal gangs, and drug trafficking by land, by air, by sea,” said the president, who awarded decorations and recognitions to the pilots and soldiers responsible for these operations.
Permanent surveillance
Likewise, President Maduro highlighted the permanent 24-hour surveillance by the Territorial Defensive System to guarantee the right to peace and national sovereignty.
“An applause from the people of Venezuela to our aviation, to our FANB that walks 24 hours a day, vigilant and grim, always wearing their field boots and they do it for love. Venezuela has an exemplary model in South America to combat crime against the criminal drug trafficking gangs, by land, by air, by sea, and that is why we are victorious in this act, on this hill of Chuquisaca I give my recognition, my decoration to the military true glory of our people,” said the national leader.
Finally, President Maduro sent a year-end message to the Venezuelan family, in which he assured that the country will continue in peace and unity towards the construction of a powerful Venezuela by 2026 and the rest of the decade. “Get ready with your hallacas, your good music, that Venezuela will continue its course in the remainder of this year, in 2026 and in the rest of this decade,” he concluded.
