The Colombian content creator Julián Pinilla, known on social networks as “El chico de la ruana”, publicly denounced an alleged case of harassment that occurred during a solidarity trip he took to Guatemala with a citizen whom he had met at one of his social activities in the municipality of Chía.
According to the influencer through a video published on his digital platforms, the invited man had sent messages with sexual innuendos to his girlfriend and a member of his work team while they were in the Central American country.
The situation, he assured, generated discomfort and concern among the people who were part of the trip.
Pinilla explained that his intention in inviting him was to offer him a different experience as part of the social dynamics he usually carries out, in which he supports people in vulnerable conditions with trips, financial aid or markets. However, he noted that the man’s behavior changed the course of the initiative.
According to his testimony, after learning of the messages he decided to go to a police station in Guatemala to record what happened and guarantee the safety of his partner and his team.
Furthermore, he stated that he subsequently learned information about the alleged judicial records of the accused, a situation that he claimed to be unaware of at the time of extending the invitation.
Beyond the complaint, the content creator pointed out that this episode taught him a lesson about the importance of reinforcing security filters in his social projects. It indicated that it will continue to develop these types of initiatives, but will implement additional verifications before including anyone in its activities.
The case has generated multiple reactions on social networks, where followers have expressed both support for the influencer and reflections on the risks that may arise in this type of solidarity actions.
