He successfully completed the spinal surgery performed on Egan Bernal

The third surgery was successfully carried out to which the young cyclist Egan Bernal, lAfter the spectacular accident in which he was involved on a road in the municipality of Gachancipá, in the department of Cundinamarca.

According to a statement that was issued after midnight, the Universidad de la Sabana Clinic reported that the cyclist “maintains the neurological integrity intact and preserves the functionality of the involved segments”.

The Clinic also reported that Bernal will remain 72 hours under observation in the Intensive Care Unit where “a progressive evolution is expected that responds to the management that was established for this high-energy trauma.”

“Likewise andWe start the rehabilitation process immediately to achieve the best possible results with our patient,” the statement said.

Bernal faced three surgeries in the span of twelve hours, two of them related to his femur and patella. Spine surgery was the most delicate.
