Authorities from the TSJE, the Ministry of the Interior and the National Police met with President Mario Abdo Benítez, in order to coordinate details for the elections. On the occasion, they reiterated the security of the voting machines.
This morning an important meeting took place in the Government Palace with the presence of the ministers of the Superior Court of Electoral Justice (TSJE), Jaime Bestard, Jorge Bogarín González and César Rossel. They also participated in Minister of the Interior, Federico González, and the commander of the National Police, Crio. Gilberto Fleitas.
Said meeting between authorities took place in order to Inform the President of the Republic of the details regarding the operation for Sunday, April 30date on which the National Elections.

For said elections, there will be a inter-institutional cooperation between the Electoral Justice and security agencies, in order to ensure the normal development of voting. “We are in the final stretch with the preparations,” said Jorge Bogarín.
He also indicated that “They are very sure” both of the Paraguayan electoral system and of the voting machines and the Preliminary Electoral Results Transmission System (TREP), which will once again be used in these elections.

Regarding the voting machines, the minister of the TSJE recalled that These computers do not have an internet connection or internal memorywhich makes them more secure against possible violations. “In the experiences of the last 20 years, there has never been any hacking.”
