BAYAHIBE.- The president of Board of Directors of COOP-HERRERA, Kenya Liriano, He argued that the eradication of poverty and social development have an accessible solution in cooperativism as a philosophy that generates material wealth and organization of communities.
speaking before the 364 delegates from different cooperative districts of this company located in West Santo Domingo, guests from 30 cooperatives, university professors and executives of cooperatives from eight countries, Liriano maintained that the conditions of poverty and marginality find in the cooperative movement, the force capable of transforming society from its most humble strata.
The II COOP-HERRERA Congress was inaugurated this Thursday with the participation, in addition to its administrator, Dr. Jorge Eligio Méndez Pérez, Eufracia Gómez Morillo, president of the National Council of Cooperatives(Conacoop), Lisandro Muñoz Pimentel, from the Federation of Government Cooperatives, (Fencoopsegud) and Marcia Elizabeth Rodríguez, from the Education Commission of the host cooperative.
Also at the head table were Dr. Miguel Polanco Wessin, executive branch liaison with the cooperative sector, Juan Núñez Collado, Carolin Bravo, president of the National Committee of Young Cooperatives, and José Alejando Rodríguez, executive director of the Association of Rural Savings Institutions. and Credit.
Liriano, advanced that the theoretical reflections imparted in the academic event will serve for the advancement of this model of the economy, not only in the Dominican Republic, but also in the Caribbean region, Central and South America.
