A man was arrested in the Buenos Aires town of Villa General Savio on suspicion of having committed the triple murder of his brother in 2019, his 10-year-old daughter in 2021 and his mother last weekend, to whom he allegedly supplied some type of drugs while they were hospitalized in different hospitals of the Buenos Aires district of San Nicolás, police and judicial sources reported.
The arrest of the suspect was achieved after the testimonies of people who make up his inner circle and the analysis of his cell phone and his computer, for which it was found that he carried out Google searches on “what happens if you infiltrate air into the veins” or ” that can be taken to cause death.
The fact that raised suspicions
The investigation began last Saturday when a woman, named Teresita Di Martino (61), died at the San Felipe hospital in that city located 240 kilometers from the Federal Capital, in the northern part of the province of Buenos Aires.
Police and judicial sources reported that the woman arrived unwell, transferred by her son Pablo Damián Grottini (42), who works as an employee of a funeral service company.
At that time, Di Martino reported feeling dizzy and anguished over the death of another son and her granddaughter, which occurred some time ago, but after carrying out the corresponding studies, the doctors confirmed that she was recovered, so they planned to discharge her.
However, while he remained in box 3 of that care center in the care of his son, he stated that the serum “lost”, to which the nurse on duty verified that it was punctured, crossed from side to side, and observed that the man had his clothes wet.
Judicial sources added that the man called the nurses an hour and a half later and there the death of the patient was confirmed.
“Then it was determined that the new serum that the nurse had placed was also punctured, this time with a single hole in the hose and an open diazepam ampoule was found in the same box where the patient was, which had not been found. been prescribed for any patient that day,” says a court statement.
Alerted the prosecutor of San Nicolás María Belén Baños, it was ordered that police personnel requisition the son of the deceased woman, whose cell phone was seized and it was found that he had a wound on a finger, compatible with a needle prick.
The same Saturday, the prosecutor ordered a search of Grottini’s house, where other computer elements were seized, which were sent to an expert, as well as the cell phone.
The other two cases
According to police and judicial sources, it later emerged based on the testimony of acquaintances and neighbors that a brother named Germán (a 32-year-old athlete and lifeguard) and Grottini’s own 10-year-old daughter (who suffered from maturational delay) had died in similar circumstances, the first in July 2019 and his daughter in July 2021.
In the case of the man, he was “admitted to the ward of a local clinic by family members (including the accused) due to mild symptoms of ‘dizziness and nausea’ and ‘drowsiness’ (according to the medical record), for which he was left under observation, with serum placed”, although hours later it was found that he was deceased, reported the Public Ministry.

Regarding the daughter, she was admitted to the hospital in July 2021 due to “chest pain”, according to her own father when she went to the guard, studies were carried out and “again they yielded results within normal parameters”.
“However, she was left for observation with serum placed, in the alternate care of her father and grandmother, in a private room,” said the prosecution, which noted that “hours later, when the girl was found with her father, it was found that the serum was damaged.”
According to the investigation, a few minutes later, the father notified the guard staff that the girl was not well, so she was transferred to intensive care and finally died.

In the last hours, the prosecutor received the expert reports made to Grottini’s technological devices, where it was found that the man made different Google searches on “what happens if you infiltrate air into the veins” or “what can be taken to cause death ”.
The prosecutor ordered the arrest of the suspect, who was arrested at his home in Villa General Savio, Ramallo district, and charged him with the crime of “triple homicide aggravated by the bond and treachery” of his mother, brother and daughter. , which provides for life imprisonment, but the man refused to testify.
Then, on the advice of his lawyer Jorge Ingrata, he asked to give his testimony and denied before Baños all the charges that had been leveled at him, despite which he will remain in detention.
The defender stated that the prosecutor “believes that there are elements to assume that the three acts were committed by Grottini”, but, in his opinion, “they are indications and he does not have concrete evidence”.
The investigators will carry out the toxicological tests on the woman’s body to verify if she received any type of drug that caused her death.

Although the investigations analyzed the possibility of exhuming the bodies of the girl and Grottini’s brother, that will not be possible because they were cremated, the spokespersons concluded.
