A confusing incident took place this Thursday between units of the National Police and a citizen who, upon requesting a license and not carrying this document, fled and apparently assaulted one of the officers. The man was arrested in front of his residence in San Cristóbal, Juan Díaz.

According to the police report when asked for the license, the man said he did not have one; at that moment he tried to flee and enter his residence, however the two police units tried to prevent him from entering the property, which led to a struggle with the unit.

During the incident, family members of the citizen recorded the arrest alleging that there was police abuse and even threatened the units with releasing a dog that remained tied up inside the residence.

The police stated that the 30-year-old citizen bit a corporal on the right arm first so as not to be apprehended.

In addition to assaulting the Police, it was learned that the man was driving the yellow Toyota Tercel vehicle, registered 213999, which does not have an operation certificate, for which reason it was removed by tow truck and the citizen will be placed under the orders of the Prosecutor’s Office. Sixth Subregional of Juan Díaz.
