A new controversy shakes the Congress of the Republic after it became known that a woman visited the current president of the Republic on 24 occasions, José Jerí, when he served as a congressman during the year 2022.
The frequency of admissions, as well as the duration of some of them, has raised questions in the political and citizen spheres.
The visitor was identified as Ana Diburcio Yuffra, 29 years old, who, according to the records of the National Superintendence of Higher University Education (Sunedu), does not have completed higher education. Despite this, he appears as one of the people who entered Jerí’s congressional office the most times between the months of October and December of that year.
Although visits to Congress are part of the political and administrative dynamics, two of the recorded entries have generated special interest due to their extension and particularities.
The first occurred on October 13, 2022, when Diburcio Yuffra entered the congressional office at 9:43 in the morning and left at 10:58 at night, remaining almost thirteen continuous hours in the office of the then legislator.
The second admission considered atypical was recorded on December 2, 2022. That day, the young woman entered at 10:38 in the morning, but an exit time was not recorded in the visit control system, a detail that has raised questions about the actual development and duration of the meeting.
Both records are part of the official documentation of Congress and have been released amid a climate of increasing scrutiny of the activities of senior public officials.
The controversy intensified after it was learned that José Jerí interacted with the young woman on social networks, specifically on Instagram, where comments and reactions from the current president of Congress were found in personal publications of Diburcio Yuffra.
One of the messages that caught the most attention was a comment in which Jerí wrote “Decide”accompanied by a face emoji with heart eyes, which generated speculation and multiple reactions on digital platforms.
What did Ana Diburcio say about her meetings with Jerí?
Faced with the dissemination of the case, Ana Diburcio Yuffra responded to ATV Noticias from abroad, where she is currently located. In his statement, he explained how he met José Jerí when he was still a congressman.
“I tell you that I have supported the party in campaigns. There I met the now president José Jerí,” he said, ruling out any additional interpretation about the frequency of his visits.
Likewise, she was emphatic in setting limits regarding her personal life. “Any type of punctual query and in a respectful manner I also emphasize that I do not give information about my private life to strangers and even less so if I am not in Peru,” he added in his response.
