In an interview with Radio Panama, the representative of the Democratic Revolutionary Party, Roberto Ábrego, referred to the agreement reached by the National Government and Minera Panama to formalize the new contract, considering that it is one of the most important in the country’s history.
“This is a contract that after the Panama Canal, is the most important in the history of our country, it is an issue that must be seen in the sense of the country, it is a state contract and it was widely discussed and debated seeking the best interests. for the country,” said Abrego.
On the process that must follow when this contract reaches the Assembly, Ábrego expresses: «There are three debates, the first debate in the Commission on Commerce and Economic Affairs, the second and third debate in the Plenary of the National Assembly, the constitutional faculty of the Assembly of Deputies is limited to approving this concession contract or rejecting it without any type of modification.
