According to the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (MINERD), since August 15, parents have been able to withdraw the “Bono a Mil por la Educación” (Thousand-a-Thousand Bonus for Education) and this will be extended until September and October.
This coupon, worth RD$1,000, is aimed at tutors of students in the public education system with the aim of supporting expenses related to the 2023-2024 school year.
This incentive is being implemented through bank transactions and nearly two million parents will benefit this school year.
The Dominican educational body specified that those who do not have a bank account will receive a text message with a code to withdraw the money from the Banco de Reservas.
