Havana World Music reschedules its concerts for the weekend

The festival Havana World Music (HWM)which was to begin this Thursday, rescheduled its concerts for the weekend due to the prevailing weather conditions on the Island.

After canceling yesterday’s presentations due to the rains that fell in the Cuban capital, the organizers of the event announced the suspension of the concerts scheduled for this Friday and their rescheduling for Saturday and Sunday, with a change of scenery.

The rains, they explained, “made it impossible to use the land and secure technical assembly” at Club 500 José Antonio Echeverría, which would host the main poster of the event, and motivated its transfer to the Ciudad Deportiva Coliseum, which will open its doors from 4:30 PM “with dissimilar offers.”

An hour later the series of concerts will begin, which will last until after midnight.

The tickets already sold for the canceled dates “will have a single use on either of the two days”, while the sale is maintained from noon at the Ciudad Deportiva itself and “the previous points of sale”, adds the official communication, which regrets “the last minute changes and the inconvenience caused”.

For their part, the bands participating in the First Base section “will perform at the Cuban Art Factory in its various ships”, from this Friday until Sunday, starting at 10:00 PM.

The event, which returns after two years absent due to the pandemic, brings together some twenty artists, including the Canadian Waahli Wesli, the German Tóke, the Brazilian Rommel, the Colombian Mateo, and Bim Bum Balaton, from Italy. For Cuba, they will perform, among others, Real Project, X Alfonso, Nube Roja, Carlos Varela and Haydée Milanés.
