Havana will once again host the international pantomime event

The IX international pantomime event will be held from June 15 to 19 in Havana with the presence of countries such as Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador, indicated the Ministry of Culture.

The meeting will have as its main venues the Tito Junco rooms and the Café Teatro of the Bertolt Brecht Cultural Complex, and will highlight the work of women in mime.

It will also reserve tributes to the recently deceased playwright Elsa Hernández Costales in a program that includes conferences and master classes, sale of handicrafts in the Brecht lobby, exhibitions and parades.

Maritza Acosta, president of the Organizing Committee, highlighted the attendance of the Brazilian Miqueias José da Paz, an outstanding figure in this specialty who fuses the technique of pantomime with the multiple possibilities of samba. And the participation of the French mime Turjman Benoit, who will arrive in Cuba for the first time to exchange on his experience in his native country, the Cradle of Pantomime in the world.

Da Paz will celebrate his 40-year career in Cuba with a show on Saturday, June 18. The participation of the French Turjman Benoit who will present the work also stands out. The neighboron Monday, June 20.
