Havana will host a new edition of the International Choir Festival

The XIV Corhabana International Choir Festival 2022 will be held from June 28 to July 2, in Havana, with the participation of about thirty groups from different regions of the country.

The Schola Cantorum Coralina, the Chamber choirs Entrevoces, Exaudi, D’ Profundis, Vocal Leo, Polifónico de La Habana, and the National Choir of Cuba, are some of the groups that will offer concerts at the event to be held in person and online, the latter scheduled from July 5 to 9.

Digna Guerra, president of the festival and director of the National Choir of Cuba, said that there will be conferences and workshops on working with children’s and youth choirs, as well as on choral arrangements in Cuban music.

During the event, the 60th anniversaries of the Cantores de Cienfuegos, the 40th of the Entrevoces Chamber Choir, the 35th of the Exaudi Chamber Choir and the 20th of the Golden Music Vocal Camerata and the Luna Vocal Ensemble will be celebrated, he said. Latin Press.

Since its foundation, Corhabana has allowed exchanges between professional and amateur choirs from all over the country and has been one of the pillars for the growth of this expression in Cuban music.
