At 9:50 a.m. yesterday, September 27, Hurricane Ian left Cuban territorynear Puerto Esperanza in the province of Pinar del Río, leaving behind two deceasedsevere damage to plantations, serious damage to all types of facilities and homes, floods and damage to the national energy network that collapsed and has left most of the Island without electricity without being able to restore yet.
We offer the testimony of our photojournalist Otmaro Rodríguez who took a tour this morning around the Havana seawall. The province that received the direct impact of Ian was Pinar del Río, however, as you can see in these images, the Cuban capital also felt the ravages of this category 3 hurricane that crossed the island, also causing damage in the provinces of Artemisa, Mayabeque and Matanzas.
