MADRID, Spain.- A building partially collapsed on Wednesday night in the Centro Habana municipality.
According to images and information shared by resident users close to the event, the collapse occurred on San Lázaro street, on the corner of Genios, in Centro Habana, in a building where three families lived.
In the photographs and a video published by influencer Alain Paparazzi Cubano shows the collapse of the roof of the upper floor of the building and one of the walls; as well as a large amount of debris on the sidewalk.
So far no injuries or deaths have been reported. However, the locals were left homeless.
As user Betty López Riverón explained, the authorities who came to the scene left only four police officers so that no one could go up.
They were left “on the street (…) nobody cared about anything,” López Riverón said.
While an Internet user identified as Pucha Toa, a local resident, Indian that the government only asked them “if they had a place to be.”
In comments to the publication, users also assured that these families had long reported the conditions of the building. However, the Cuban government did nothing about it.
“Cuba is falling on us, in every sense of the word”, “Havana can’t take it anymore”, “And the resigned neighbors and waiting for theirs to fall on top of them… poor people”, Cubans opined in the face of the new collapse .
Last weekend, the passage of the cyclone aghata and the precarious conditions in which a large number of Havana properties are found, caused more than 200 landslides in the capital.
