Harold Lozano nostalgically recalled the day Freddy Rincón broke his mouth

This Saturday the funeral was held to say goodbye to Freddy Rincón. And for this reason, the Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium, enabled one of its stands so that more than 8,000 people bid farewell to the ‘Colossus of Buenaventura’.

And it is not for less, since Rincón Valencia marked a milestone in the history of Colombian Professional Football, therefore, former colleagues such as Óscar Córdoba, Faustino Asprilla, Francisco Maturana, René Higuitaamong others, attended the sports complex to say their last goodbye.

However, each of them keep the best memories of Freddy, and after his death, some little-known anecdotes come to light, such as the one the former soccer player lived with his partner Harold Lozano during the 1994 World Cup in the United States.

In a story for the Win Sports channel, Lozano said that he had a strong confrontation with the ‘Coloso’, during a training session of the Colombian National Team, and although they attacked each otherthings did not happen to majors and later they reconciled.

“We were stressed because we had lost the first two games. And in a play while we were training, ‘Coroncoro’ Perea stumbles, and immediately Freddy turns to see me. He didn’t say anything to me, and he punched me in the mouth and from one my lip swelled, “he recalled.

This brought about the reaction of Lozano who said “I didn’t allow him to hit me and I kicked him. And even though I stopped him, he kept looking at me. I was ready to go for a run. It was something of the moment, and then we were fine.”

In addition, he remembered his old friend as a very noble person, but with a strong character, who was always highly respected. He was one of the leaders of the time for all the clubs he passed through and even in the National Team.
