The Secretary of Economy has accelerated the seizure of illegal merchandise of Asian origin that has entered Mexico.

The president has expressed her confidence that the mass deportation plan proposed by Trump will not be carried out, but if it happens, there is already a plan to care for returned Mexicans, and the US government will be asked to send the migrants to their countries of origin. and not to Mexico.

Other actions in response to Trump’s threats are:

• Mexicans in the United States will be able to request support 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the numbers: 520 623 7874 from the United States and Canada, as well as 001 520 623 7874 from Mexico.
• In January there will be an Alert Button, an application that will allow migrants to receive care in emergency cases.
• The Single Window for consular procedures is created, which will begin with the digitization and simplification of procedures through the page: https://miconsulado.sre.gob.mx/.
• Launch of the Information and Assistance Center for Mexican People (CIAM) to provide legal support by telephone.
• The Legal Assistance Program was strengthened through External Legal Advisors (PALE) with the hiring of 329 legal advisors who, together with the consular network, will verify that due process is complied with in the detention of compatriots, according to the framework international law, the Vienna Convention and state legislation, among other diverse laws.
• A Local Action Plan is already implemented for each consulate to act in accordance with the legal framework of each state.
• The Know and Exercise your Rights program is implemented in the consulates, for prevention and rapid response to arrests and intimidating actions.
• Direct contact is strengthened through “open door” consulates.
• The services of the Mexican government are expanded through the IMSS, Infonavit, SAT and Financiera para el Bienestar
• Special attention is provided to people returning to Mexico or for those who may be subject to deportation.
• A dissemination is carried out so that those who have children born in the US can register them at the consulates.
• Strategic alliances are established with mayors, councilors, state and federal legislators.
