“What we are looking for is that: to strengthen coordination. We had very good coordination. Now, with the restructuring that Ernestina Godoy is beginning to carry out, we still expect better coordination. We are convinced that this is how it will be,” he said.
In a conference to present progress on security in Michoacán, the head of the Ministry of Public Security and Citizen Protection insisted that there was always “very good coordination” with Gertz Manero.
With the arrival of Godoy Ramos at the head of the FGR there were also changes; Héctor Elizalde Mora assumed the direction of the Criminal Investigation Agency in place of Felipe de Jesús Gallo.
César Oliveros Aparicio was appointed head of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime to replace Alfredo Higuera Bernal.
García Harfuch commented that both people had already worked with the now head of the Prosecutor’s Office, so he considered that there will be better coordination.
Godoy Ramos is in charge of the FGR’s office, so the Senate began the process to elect the definitive head of that body.
It is expected that this Tuesday, the Upper House will deliver a list with the names of at least 10 people to President Claudia Sheinbaum, who will choose three people, who will be voted on.
There is no evidence of organized crime in Miss Universe
Omar García Harfuch assured that there is no indication that there is money from organized crime in the Miss Universe contest.
“Nor do we have anything related to the contest as such with the corresponding investigations,” said the secretary, after the FGR issued an arrest warrant against Raul Rocha co-owner of the beauty pageant, for alleged acts of organized crime, huachicol and arms trafficking.
In total, the Prosecutor’s Office issued arrest warrants against 13 people, including Raúl Rocha. For this action, the Secretary of Security commented that both the FGR, the Secretariat of Security and the rest of the institutions that make up the Security Cabinet participated.
