A man died and a woman is seriously injured after a hang glider crash on São Conrado beach, in the south of Rio de Janeiro.
Rescued on the beach, the man did not survive the accident. The woman was taken to the Miguel Couto Municipal Hospital, in Gávea.
The Military Fire Department did not identify the victims, nor did they provide information about their names, professions and ages. According to the local press, it is a hang gliding instructor and an American tourist.
The Fire Department was called at 11:18 am this Saturday to provide assistance to the two people. Assistance was provided by the São Conrado and Copacabana maritime garrison police stations.
Police experts are at the scene analyzing the accident.
