Dajabón.- Soldiers from the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) and the Specialized Corps for Land Border Security (Cesfront) evicted dozens of Haitians who had built homes in the surroundings of the Codevi Free Trade Zone, located between the Juana Méndez area, Haiti and Dajabón from the Dominican Republic.
The operation was carried out from the early hours of the morning until late hours under the coordination of dozens of officers and enlisted men.
It was reported that Haitians that were being evicted threw stones and destroyed glass from several floors of the industrial park, so far the reason is unknown, while the evaluations continue.
However, no information was given on the instructions of who was carrying out the operation that corresponds to the Haitian or Dominican authorities.
