Santo Domingo – The State of Israel donated this morning – on the border with Dajabón – US$17,000 to Haiti in food rations for more than 500 Haitian families.
The donation, which is made under the auspices of MASHAV, was delivered directly by Daniel Biran, Ambassador of Israel, and Avia Levi, Consul and Deputy Head of Mission, through the Support Council for Development of Ounamenthie/Juana Méndez –in Haiti- (CONADO), Group M and CODEVI.
“We have responded to the international call to come and help the Haitian people, who need us more than ever. Its people, their families, thousands of children, women and good men who find themselves today without anything, need us. Today we come with food, but we will continue to contribute, to the extent possible, in the search for solutions to this unfortunate and complex situation,” said Daniel Biran, Ambassador of Israel.
Fernando Capellán, president of Grupo M and Codevi, for his part, thanked the Conado delegation for its support and reiterated its commitment to continue serving as a channeling axis.
To contribute to the well-being of the community of Juana Méndez from the entity she represents and with the help of people of good will such as Ambassador Biran.
The donation included more than 10 types of food: rice, beans, oil, water, oatmeal, spaghetti, sugar, salt, milk, chocolate, tomato sauce, pigeon peas, sardines, corn.
Cristpher Duma, president of the Conado and mayor of Juana Méndez/Ounamenthie, was also present at the delivery; Maitre Jesula, treasurer of Conado; Jamell Angel, General Secretary of Conado and Joseph Blumberg, General Director of Grupo M and Codevi.
