Hair for mayors and governors: It is the time for People’s Power

Hair for mayors and governors: It is the time for People's Power

The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, asserted that it is the historic moment of Popular Power, for “the people to assume and do the things that the people decide.”

The Bolivarian leader also reflected, during his participation this Friday in the Great Congress of the Historical Block of the Five Generations, on the creation of the first Communal Councils in the country and admitted that in the first stage of Popular Power there were problems “when what “The people wanted it clashed with the interests of what the mayor or the governor wanted.”

“I know of projects that Commander Chávez gave him the resources and that could not be done because in that town the only backhoe machine was owned by the mayor. And he did not lend it to the Communal Council to do the work. “That happened in this country,” he commented.

In that sense, he insisted to the representatives of the Executive branch in the states and municipalities that they understand “that it is the time for popular power, it is the time for the people to assume and for things to be done and the people to decide.”

Transformation of the State

“If we believe that we are going to make a Revolution with the figure of mayors and governors, we are screwed. It’s not that way. A Revolution is made together with the people, with the people ruling, deciding and having power,” Cabello emphasized.

He noted that within the Congress of the Historical Block the transformation of the State should be generated. “Let no one be afraid, let no one feel sorry, but we are not going to transform the State to hand it over to the bourgeoisie. If we are going to transform the State it will be so that the people have more power every day,” he pointed out.

30 year plan

The first vice president of the PSUV highlighted the union of the five historical generations and the seven great forces of the Bolivarian Revolution, which have developed a “frank and constructive debate to review and analyze the historical moment, and where we want to be in the next 30 years.”

“The fundamental objective is our 30-year vision. In 2054 it will be 100 years since the birth of the Giant Hugo Chávez, and the country will celebrate it in Revolution,” he assured.

For Cabello, the only way for Venezuela to advance and move forward “with dignity” is for the Bolivarian Revolution to remain at the forefront for many years.

“Here is the history of this country, the history that has been made so that others can write it in a better world. We are obliged to leave young people a truly free and independent country,” he highlighted.
