The Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, announced the seizure of explosive material in two sheds in Maturín, Monagas state, this Saturday, August 9.
“After an intelligence work, some Maturín companions made us know that they saw a strange material in some sheds in the industrial zone, and also in another shed on Avenida Alirio Ugarte.”
Hair, at a press conference transmitted by VTV, showed the shed located in the industrial zone and the seized material: “What we have found here is alarming,” he said
He pointed out that 1,137 boxes of hollow loads were found for a total of 54,000 units of hollow loads, 35 rolls of detonating cord, 82 secondary loads, 125 electric detonators, 61 hollow loading systems, 46 non -electric detonators, cell phones and fuel of different types.
He did not rule out that there are C4, dynamite and other explosives in the shed. He said they will continue to review.
After the complaint made on Thursday about the arrest of 13 people whom he pointed out of being involved in a “conspiracy” to detonate explosives in Plaza Venezuela last weekend, he informed that the investigations continue and are after the search for 10 or 12 people linked to these facts.

In the complaint made this Thursday, Cabello also accused Machado of being “the boss” of these actions, supported by “extremist sectors that are in the administration of the United States government.”
