A strong and atypical storm unloaded hailstones on Havana early Thursday morning and caused flooding not only in several municipalities of the capital and in other places in the west of the island.
For Lydia, a resident of Centro Habana, the least important thing was the thick pieces of ice that kept her awake and almost broke the glass in her windows. The tanks of the building where she lives, which are located just above her room, overflowed from her, taking with her some precarious pipes that her neighbor had installed. All the water fell into her apartment, which is in precarious condition.
