The candidate for the government of the state of São Paulo by PT, Fernando Haddad, proposed today (19) the merger of the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) and the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (SAP). He also defended a greater integration of the military and civil police.
“I will merge the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (SAP) and the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP). I’m going to make a model for the integration of the Military Police with the Civil Police. Today, the command of the Military Police and the command of the Civil Police are distant from the governor. I want both the command of the PM and the general delegate of the Civil Police to be directly associated with a secretary,” said Haddad on a visit to the city of Poá, in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo.
The candidate stated that, if elected, he intends to hire more investigators and re-equip the police. He also defended the improvement in salaries and new public tenders for the public security sector.
