The PT candidate for the state of São Paulo, Fernando Haddad, defended today (10) a set of actions to welcome and help the homeless population. According to the candidate, each homeless citizen has a specific need and the government must have concrete alternatives to deal with the different situations presented.
“For each situation, you will offer solutions and you will ask social workers, the community and civil society to indicate the best way to solve the problem. The government cannot enter and leave and the state does not assume this responsibility”, said Haddad, after visiting Father Júlio Lancellotti, in the São Miguel Arcanjo parish, in the capital of São Paulo.
In the government proposal, the candidate presents measures such as the creation of an emergency fund to fight hunger for people in situations of vulnerability, the forecast of quotas in housing programs, assistance with social lease and rental assistance until professional requalification.
