This is the highest figure achieved in these auctions, whose profits go to the island’s Public Health system, according to its organizers.
The most valued humidor was that of the famous Cohiba brand, for which 4.4 million dollars were paid, well above the 2.8 million of the previous record, achieved last September, he refers an office from the agency EFE.
The other five humidors auctioned at the gala ranged from $468,000 to $2.7 million in revenue, adds the Spanish media.

Renowned artists from the island performed at the evening, such as the pianists Emilio Morales and Alejandro Falcón, the singers Zule Guerra, Bárbara Llanes and Leo Vera, and the Manolito Simonet orchestra. The musical climax of the night was provided by the famous group Boney M.
This edition of the festival was attended by more than 2,000 participants from 110 countries, and with 260 exhibitors at its trade fair, which also closed this Friday. In addition, during its days there were theoretical sessions, tastings and pairings with different drinks, visits to plantations and factories, and the closing of the Habanos World Challenge contest, among other activities.
On this occasion, the event was dedicated to the Bolívar, Montecristo and Partagás brands, three of the 27 that Habanos SA sells. This mixed Spanish-Cuban company is a world leader in the marketing of Premium cigars, with a presence in some 160 countries and with revenues of 545 million dollars last year.
