Gymnasts from the USA expand their dominance in Cali-Valle 2021

At the El Pueblo Coliseum, Sumanasekera won on the jumping horse, Shamah led the qualifications in pommel and Liang triumphed on the ground, to increase to six the number of golden scepters of the United States in the great event of America.

Before hundreds of fans Sumanasekera showed precision in the fall and with a greater degree of difficulty she deserved an evaluation of 13.95, to relegate her teammate Katelyn Jong (13,933) to second position, while the Brazilian Andreza Heloisa (13,083) finished in third place .

In the pommel contest, Shamah exhibited balance, hand changing ability and rotations to receive a winning score of 12,666, ahead of Peru’s Edward Daniel Alarcon (12.6) and Brazilian Gustavo Miguel Ramos (12.5)

For his part, Liang triumphed in the floor exercise, with 13,366 to add his second gold in the continental event, ahead of Luciano Mauricio Letelier, from Chile (13,166); and Ariel Josué Villalobos, from Costa Rica (13,113), occupying positions two and three, respectively.

The United States leads the performance of the artistic gymnastics of Cali-Valle 2021 and to the crown of Sumanasekera, Shamah and Liang add gold in the men’s and women’s team competition, and in the test of maximum accumulators through Vahe Petrosyan.

The artistic gymnastics contest summoned athletes from 18 nations and the Sunday day still reserves the men’s final in rings and women in asymmetric ones.
