After his disclosure, on social networks, Gustavo de Hoyos shared a video in which he reiterated that he will seek to be a presidential candidate in 2024.

“Mexicans are fed up with politicians. What would happen if one of us, someone who is not rotten by power, rises up to take the reins of this country? Today I say it clearly and directly: I want to lead that effort.” , public.

Who is Gustavo de Hoyos?

Gustavo de Hoyos has a Law Degree from the Autonomous University of Baja California and a Business Administration Degree from Cetys-Universidad, where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Corporate and International Law.

Currently, according to his LinkedIn profile, he is the CEO of the legal services company “De Hoyos y Avilés” (DHA) with multiregional operations in Mexico, and participates in industrial supply companies, commercialization of financial assets, urban infrastructure, and transportation services. hospitality.

He founded and currently chairs the councils of Alternativas por México and the National Council for Strategic Litigation.

He has been a Director on the Boards of Directors of various entities such as Infonavit, Bancomext, Conacyt, Conalep and Infonacot.

He was National President of the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic from 2016 to 2020, where he previously held various positions at the regional and local level.

He was part of the Executive Commission of the Business Coordinating Council and the Advisory Council for International Negotiations. In the agreement of the T-MEC (USCAM) he was one of the main promoters of the anti-corruption chapter.

He served as President of the Board of Trustees of the Autonomous University of Baja California, and previously, as the first President of the UABC Foundation, AC

With prominent social leaders, he founded the Sí por México movement, which promoted the construction of the Va por México coalition towards the electoral processes to be held in 2021, to achieve plurality in the integration of national and local legislative powers, as well as in the state and municipal governments.

It enjoys wide recognition as one of the main counterweights of civil society against public power. He received the Democracy Award from the Pagés Lergo Foundation.
