Bolivia closed training sessions and embarked on Arequipa, the venue for the friendly with Peru. On the last day of work in La Paz, the Argentine Gustavo Costas gave a press conference and stressed the importance of changing the mentality in national football.
“We cannot depend on the height, but if we have it we must take advantage of it, we don’t have to be agile”, He reflected on the confirmation of having the venue in the Hernando Siles stadium.
“We have to make a team that competes everywhere, not depend on height. When we go to Argentina or Peru we have to go to win, we have to go with that mentality”, he continued.
The change of mentality is one of the biggest challenges of the new cycle of the National Team, and Gustavo Costas knows it. “It will be difficult to change the mentality, I cannot lie and tell you that this will be immediate. You have to put together a team that has to play on an equal footing everywhere”, he commented.
Regarding the work and annual planning in 2023, the DT pointed out that “we have stipulated the dates of the microcycles that would begin in February, these will be held in the city of Santa Cruz and La Paz. We want to coincide on the same route and that we can secure the dates ”.
