The president of the Ministerial Cabinet, Gustavo Adrianzén, was consulted by the press about Nicanor Boluarte, the president’s brother, who was sentenced to 36 months of preventive detention and requested his immediate arrest as he was not available. During the PCM press conference, the prime minister questioned Judge Concepción Carhuancho’s decision.
“This decision has lasted for more than four months, a resolution has had to be read for more than three days and finally a decision of this nature was made,” were the words of Adrianzén. Furthermore, regarding Nicanor Boluarte’s clandestinity, he added that “surely his lawyers will be able to present the appeals that create responsibility and the final decision will be made,” minimizing his condition of being in hiding.
Likewise, he criticized the involvement of President Dina Boluarte in the case of the alleged criminal organization that, according to the prosecutor’s thesis, would have been led by her older brother, and that would have the purpose of affecting the continuity of her position. “I have to report once again the judicialization of politics. (…) There is a feverish idea that a criminal organization exists, and from that, they try to promote an alleged moral incapacity in the President of the Republic that could lead to her vacancy,” said the head of the Council of Ministers.
