The President of the Council of Ministers, Gustavo Adrianzén, stated that more than 60% of the forest fires registered throughout Peru have already been extinguished. He also asked the population and the authorities to remain calm.
The Prime Minister went to Iquitos to deliver 15 tons of humanitarian aid and reported that 222 forest fires had been reported. For this reason, the Government ordered the declaration of emergency in the city.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers also indicated that the Minister of Defense, Walter Astudillo, and the head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, arrived in Iquitos with the objective of distributing humanitarian aid. In addition, the arrival of another 5 tons is planned.
“The government of President Dina Boluarte has declared a state of emergency due to the water and energy shortages in the city of Iquitos. That is the reason for our visit today, Sunday.“, he said.
Adrianzén later pointed out that the Executive was able to confirm that the regions of Ica and Loreto have not registered forest fires.
“We hope that Loreto remains in these conditions and on the other hand, at the national level, our Armed Forces, in coordination with Indeci, are deploying all their efforts.“, he said.
