A little more than three months after taking office, 57% of Colonians evaluate his work at the head of the Departmental Administration as “satisfactory,” while only 5% consider it “unsatisfactory.”
The survey, carried out between October 10 and 15, 2025 in the main urban centers of the department – Colonia del Sacramento, Carmelo, Nueva Palmira, Rosario, Nueva Helvecia and Juan Lacaze – covered 500 probabilistic telephone interviews with a margin of error less than 4% and a reliability greater than 95%.
“Almost three times as many Colonians believe that the current administration will surpass the previous administration,” says the report by MPC, a consulting firm that stands out for having correctly predicted all elected mayors in the 21st century.
Along these lines, 39% consider that Rodríguez’s management will be better than the previous one, compared to 15% who estimate that it will be worse and 18% who foresee continuity.
Top rated areas
The study shows especially high satisfaction in municipal services, where 80% of respondents rated the Municipality’s performance positively. Favorable results are also observed in communication and culture (58%), and works (53%).
The areas of streets and traffic, on the other hand, appear as the main sources of citizen demand: 35% ask for improvements in the condition of the streets and 22% in traffic management, followed by rural roads (18%) and employment (15%).
Connection and communication with citizens
The survey also reveals the main channels through which the population is informed about municipal operations. 51% mention local radio stations as their main source, followed by the institutional networks of the Municipality (35%), television (10%) and the written press (4%).
This data confirms the persistent influence of the radio medium on departmental communication and the growing importance of digital channels.
Context and projection
Rodríguez, who joined the previous administration as Secretary General, now faces the challenge of consolidating the initial good perception and responding to the most urgent demands for road infrastructure and employment.
For MPC, these first results constitute an “auspicious beginning”, in a context where public confidence in local management seems to be strengthening, at least in this first stage.
