The Secretary of Transportation, Diego Giuliano, affirmed this Wednesday that the proposal of transfer the 32 urban bus lines from the orbit of the Nation to that of the Buenos Aires Government Its objective is to “compensate in part for the asymmetries with the interior, which make the urban ticket cost $18 in CABA and almost $60 in the cities of Rosario, Santa Fe and Córdoba.”
In this sense, Giuliano declared to the Rosario radio station LT8 that “the idea is not to fight with anyone but to try to have an idea of federal equity.”
“Because now there is a subsidy of $28.4 billion inside of the country and another $14,200 million to the lines that only circulate through CABA“, stressed the official.
He also warned that “the budget that the opposition did not approve contemplated a 70% increase in transport subsidies in the interior of the country, where there is a very large difference between the cost of the ticket in the city of Buenos with respect to cities like Rosario, Cordoba or Santa Fe”.
On Tuesday, Giuliano sent a note to the head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodríguez, and to his chief of staff, Felipe Miguel, inviting them to discuss the issue.
The invitation, said the national official in the letter, has “the purpose of coordinating a working meeting for the analysis of the competences in terms of regulation, control, routes, frequencies and rates regarding public passenger transport services by motor vehicle carried out entirely in the territory of the city of Buenos Aires, with the participation of technical teams from both jurisdictions”.
The City of Buenos Aires must recover its full autonomy in relation to the regulation and control of its own transport, defining modalities, routes and rates of the TUP lines that are exclusive to its territory.

Sources from the Buenos Aires government confirmed to Télam the receipt of the note sent by Giuliano and anticipated that They will coordinate with the Secretariat of Transport Management the date of the meeting “to see the points on the table and what it is about”.
On the other hand, Giuliano revealed that they are also working “to add Rosario to the SUBE cardas 45 cities in the country already have it, which also has a social attribute that grants benefits to domestic workers and beneficiaries of social plans, and which has a traceability that allows the subsidy to reach the passenger directly, without intermediaries.
