Business associations are optimistic about the announcement made by the Ministry of Health (Minsal) about the new Step-by-Step plan to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, which will have greater freedoms compared to its predecessor.

The president of the Chilean Events Association (Asevech), Carlos Hueteexpressed that “as a guild we are very happy with the new announcement, we believe that it gives economic viability and makes the events work in a much more realistic way in order to keep us running”.
“I think that the proposed capacity is very realistic with respect to the possibilities of the industry working, so we are very optimistic about these announced changes and we hope to see the details drop as soon as possible to see the differences between one type of event and the other. another, but we think it’s a good ad,” he said.

Meanwhile, the president of the Chilean Association of Gastronomy, Maximo Picalloindicated that “we believe that this simplification to three phases can be positive, but we need to know the details”.
“Until now we do not know what is going to happen with some measures that are preventing restaurants from having full capacity, which allows them to return to the sales levels prior to this health crisis. For his part, the president of the National Multigremial, John Paul Sweetstated that “we value the update made by the health authority, particularly with the relaxation of the use of masks in open spaces, where we believe that citizen self-care will be key.”
He also added that “we believe that, with the elimination of the concept of interaction between attendees, this will favor the reactivation of the events, commerce and gastronomy sector, who in a phase of low health impact will be able to operate without restriction of capacity and limit of attendees” .
While the president of the Federation of Tourism Companies of Chile, Ricardo Margulispointed out that “we think the announcement made today by the Minister of Health is very important in the sense that the need to wear masks in open public spaces is going to be eliminated, as well as the new step-by-step phase that is already only three , which allow much greater freedom in terms of capacity and restrictions for the world of gastronomy, events and hotels”.
“We hope that next week the end of the homologation of vaccines for foreigners who want to visit the country will also be announced,” he concluded.
In turn, the president of the National Association of Events and Business Tourism Companies (Aneet), Pilar Villacuramaintained that “we are grateful for the modifications made by the government to the step-by-step plan, since they will allow us to operate to the maximum in the low-impact phase and without restrictions on interaction between attendees.
