The leader of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) Guido Gómez Mazara calls his attention and considers that it is a reason for an interesting debate regarding the characteristics of Dominican politicians, the fact that the former president of the Republic, Leonel Fernández, revealed that “some friends” gave him a house to spend the night in Santiago.
He said that, although he has no age or experience accumulated to suggest, he understands that Fernández’s public recognition introduces the issue of ethics, accountability and transparency in the debate of national ideas.
Gómez Mazara, president of the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel), referred to the issue today by offering statements to the press during the opening ceremony of the Digital Laboratory of the Ateneo Light Lovers, a centennial cultural institution chaired by the journalist Carlos Manuel Estrella.

“Within the framework of the greatest possible respect, I feel that Dominican politicians must make a greater approximation to the vocation of service, ethics, decency and transparency,” said the former legal consultant of the Executive Power in the government of President Hipólito Mejía (2000-2004).
The official considers that he does not speak well of any politician when he admits that friends gave him a house in Santiago.
“I am a friend of Leonel Fernández, and I believe that the framework of the discussion must be in that direction. And in 2028 the company has the right to choose between the future and the past,” said the president of Indotel.
Santiagueros are identified more with Abinader
Guido Gómez Mazara recalled that the source for the excellence of consultation is the voters and in that sense, he added that the last electoral process said that the Santiagueros and El Cibao are more in accordance with the things that President Luis Abinader represents than the things that former president Leonel Fernández represents.
